Working with the world’s fastest growing and multiple award winning SaaS Fintech in Engagement Banking, this is an exciting role that allows for career growth and development in the area of Compliance. You will play a pivotal part in developing this role and influencing a culture of Compliance across Backbase.

Based in Hyderabad, India or in Singapore, you will report directly to the Compliance Director in our Amsterdam HQ and assume day-to-day management of a wide range of Compliance activities and implementation initiatives. You are going to be working within a Compliance team to identify, prioritize and roll-out key compliance, security & risk initiatives supporting our IT projects across the APAC region/time zones.

Meet the job

• Liaise with other teams and business owners across the organization like IT Security, Legal and Delivery/Project teams ensuring product & tech roadmaps, managing key milestones
• Advise and support the Customer facing business functions and respond to ad-hoc compliance requests
• Support ongoing efforts to transition further into our Cloud delivery programme with a clear focus on Information Security and Privacy Standards being applied
• Maintain and enhance the design, implementation and operating effectiveness of processes and controls of the compliance program to ensure Backbase Managed Services successfully achieves, amongst others, a SOC 2 Type II attestation and PCI DSS compliance
• You will need to be able to deliver evidence on our SOC 2 adherence to an external auditor on annual basis
• Act as the SME within the Managed Services function for all compliance aspects and assist when needed with RFP’s and vendor assessment responses in relation to Managed Services
• Further develop and maintain the Compliance training programme, coordinating with the Backbase Academy, track and monitor mandatory training to determine effectiveness together with IT Project Management
• Perform triage on reported Compliance concerns and follow-up or investigate
• Contribute to setting up the Risk function in the Customer facing departments and support IT project managers performing related obligations
• As a contributing member of the IT Security Committee, you will be involved in risk mitigation decisions and deliverables
• Maintain Compliance policies and support the Compliance team with the revision of the Policy governance framework
• Contribute in an intrinsic manner to Quarterly Compliance Reporting towards Management and other communication from the Compliance Department to the rest of the organization
• Promote the effective use of tooling and of control frameworks (Backbase Control Framework) to ensure that Compliance risks are appropriately managed
• Keep up with industry, information security and regulatory changes. Monitor alignment of the compliance program with these changes and Backbase’s business strategy and objectives

You bring to the table:

• Up to 10 years of relevant working experience in the practical implementation of global Risk & Compliance programmes, ideally in a software development and cloud computing organization;
• Good working knowledge of global laws and regulations relating to Integrity & Compliance risks including bribery, corruption, fraud, and sanctions as well as IT Security and data protection risks;
• Knowledge of EU/US legislation & regulation of the Financial Sector is a major plus;
• Having knowledge/experience in the area of PCI/DSS compliance is a major plus;
• Experience in Information Security and Privacy Standards (SOC2, ISO 27001, ISO 27701);
• Good to have experience with Cloud Security Standards (ISO 27017,ISO 27018, MTCS SS 584:2020, CSA STAR);
• Good knowledge of GDPR and technical assessment of Data architecture;
• Strong and effective stakeholder management both internal and external
• Excellent, effective communication, project management and organizational skills;
• Knowledge and understanding is preferred on Agile/Scrum/LEAN/SDLC working methods
• Solid spoken and written command of the English language;
• Professional certifications such as CIPP, CISA, CISSP, CRISC or other relevant certifications.
