The System Security Engineer performs all processes and procedures necessary to ensure the safety of information systems, services, and networks. In addition, the primary responsibility is to protect the privacy, confidentiality, integrity, and availability of company and customer data by conducting security reviews, monitoring for security incidents, and creating infosec policies and procedures. 

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, document, create, and analyze configuration settings, rules, and alerts associated with information systems, services, and company networks
  • Conduct security, vulnerability and risk reviews of IT services and IT applications through the use of various automated tools and manual testing procedures
  • Create Infosec policies, procedures, and playbooks
  • Create baseline security configuration standards for IT services
  • Monitor, investigate, and respond to security incidents
  • Perform root cause analysis on identified vulnerabilities and identified incidents
  • Stay informed on the latest known vulnerabilities
  • Ensure existing and new IT services comply with enterprise security, industry best practices, and audit standards  
  • Supervise and review some assurance audit activities  
  • Prepare reports, advise leadership about the status of technology and compliance issues, and make recommendations for risk mitigation 
  • Work with multiple business units to ensure security policies and procedures are being adhered to

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information security, information systems, or similar preferred
  • Relevant industry certification in information security, management information systems security or similar preferred 
  • Certifications in relevant securing relevant business applications
  • Demonstrated practical knowledge in information security, IT, internet concepts, and business applications.
  • Some experience with infosec testing tools and scripts.
  • Familiar with SaaS application concepts: secure configuration, API’s, logging, access control, permissions, troubleshooting.
  • Some experience working with relevant business applications such as ERP, CRM, and IdP solutions.
  • Familiar with implementing secure IT SaaS applications. 
  • Familiar with OWASP top 10 and MITRE ATT&CK Framework.
  • Knowledge of various operating systems, ChromeOS, Linux, Mac, Windows.
  • Able to navigate the linux command line and write basic scripts
  • Strong verbal and written communications
  • Excellent time management and organization skills
  • Excellent Analytical skills
