About the Role

The Cybersecurity Advisor will be a member of our New Zealand Cybersecurity Advisory Practice located in Christchurch and will work with the Unified Security team to design, deploy and deliver a growing portfolio of Security solutions. The successful applicant will have the opportunity work with and learn from a wide range of skilled peers.

Due to the nature of this particular role - You MUST be either a New Zealand Citizen/Resident/Relevant Work Visa and/or have the ability to clear additional security clearance (Five Years in Five Eyes). What you’ll do

  • Project tasks - Security platform component deployment and configuration, security policy design, configuration, and deployment, handover to operational teams.
  • Operational support of customer’s security environments.
  • Input to Statements of Work (SOW)
  • Maintain security domain knowledge
  • Maintain industry knowledge of relevance to the Cybersecurity Advisory Practice
  • Relationship maintenance - across the Datacom Advisory Practice, Security Operations Centre, Modern Workplace, Cloud Platform Services, and vendor and customer teams.
  • Stay abreast of industry changes (technology, legislation, compliance)

What you’ll bring

  • A keen interest in Cybersecurity with proven knowledge or certifications achieved.
  • A minimum of 2-4 years IT experience
  • Experience with various security monitoring tools and associated solutions such as Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Cloud, Defender for Office 365, Defender for Identity, Defender for Cloud Apps, Microsoft Sentinel, and Azure AD.
  • Good understanding of: Microsoft Windows for Desktop and Server, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Endpoint Detection and Response, Vulnerability assessment, Antivirus & Malware analysis, Information Protection CASB, Proxy, SIEM, Data loss Prevention, Networking, and application firewall solutions.
  • Good communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Process understanding and Process Improvement mindset
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field, or a combination of education and experience is essential.
  • Ability to grasp new security technology concepts quickly and assist others in understanding them as well.
  • Industry recognised security certification would be advantageous.
