FWG Solutions is looking for qualified individuals ready to support the 33rd Network Warfare Squadron (NWS) Defensive Cyber Operations Team at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, TX. The 33rd NWS has a storied history dating back to World War II. The 33rd NWS serves as the US Air Force’s principal network defense element under the 16th Air Force’s Cyber Security Service Provider (CSSP) mission.  Being an active part of this unit means monitoring, securing, and protecting Air Force and Central Command global networks, ensuring network integrity, reliability, availability, confidentiality and responding to hostile network threats and attacks.
The End Point Security Engineer will support the 33rd Network Warfare Squadron Defensive Cyber Operations Team onsite at Lackland Air Force Base. This position will be an active part of this unit and will be responsible for monitoring, securing, and protecting the Air Force and Central Command global networks by ensuring that all end point services are installed, configured, maintained, and performing. This role will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining system effectiveness, fixing and reporting any issues in a timely manner.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities·         Install, configure, troubleshoot, maintain, and manage all End Point Services security, technologies, and devices, including support for advanced administration of the End Point technologies on the central management systems, operational networks and AOL (Alternate Operating Location) pre-deployment network configurations·         Provide advanced level support in specific End Point systems (currently HBSS) as evidenced by applicable commercial certifications.·         Ensure that support includes advanced End Point development, integration and engineering of central management systems, operational networks and the training network and AOL network infrastructures·         Maintain and manage software upgrades and patches and perform system changes for end point technologies ensuring proper configuration established ·         Perform advanced diagnostic testing and troubleshooting either remotely or through local System Administration having direct access to the end point technology, and respond to inoperable systems within 15 minutes of discovery·         Conduct troubleshooting and fault isolation to sustain network connectivity between the end point technologies and, maintain COTS and GOTS end point applications, harden ACL to restrict unauthorized access to networks, create (within two (2) working days) and manage end point user accounts, and assign the user specific rights to access network resources·         Perform advanced actions necessary to ensure end point technologies are collecting, and reporting network activity to the shift lead, diagnose and resolve end user problems, and ensure the end users adhere to the proper security policies and procedures·         Develop and maintain documentation for hardware/software logs, operating procedures, and all maintenance actions performed. ·         Develop and maintain training documentation, processes, checklists, and logs for support; within 90 days of discovery of the need for all tasks associated with End Point Services ·         Develop and maintain work center specific training programs, and train government employees in the work center ·         Participate in meetings, planning conferences, weapon system reviews, PMO deployment and other collaborative efforts, as required·         Respond to CRITICAL network outages within 60 minutes or a PRIORITY network outage within three hours of contractor notification·         Utilize approved trouble ticketing systems to document all End Point Services maintenance actions, user account actions and other user/system support·         Notify COR and Government shift lead of a system Hazardous Condition (HAZCON) situation or unscheduled outage within 15 minutes of discovery, and update IAW 33 NWS approved procedures·         Ensure all outages, scheduled or unscheduled, are tracked in accordance with approved procedures within 15 minutes of occurrence·         Other duties as related to the business functions of FWG Solutions, as assigned
Requirements & Qualifications:Education:·         High School Degree Required·         Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred or equivalent experience
Licenses & Certifications:·         Active TS/SCI Security Clearance ·         Required to have one of the following IAT Level II certifications: CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, or SSCP – or an IAT Level III certification: CASP+ CE, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GCED, GCIH, or CCNP Security ·         Required to have one of the following IAT CSSP certifications for Infrastructure Support: Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), CySA+, GICSP, SSCP, CHFI, CFR, Cloud+, or CND·         Possession of one of the following certifications:OS certifications: Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), Linux+, LPIC-1, RedHat (RHCA).
Experience:·         Required minimum of three to five years (3-5) of relevant experience; DoD experience preferred·         Required minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the following areas: networking protocol knowledge, endpoint detection and protection tools, security hardening workstation·         Strong information security experience in network and endpoint security and in-depth knowledge of operation systems and web platforms, as well as strong programming knowledge
Skills & Abilities:·         Ability to use endpoint detection and protection tools·         Knowledgebase to build, document and test reference architecture·         Ability to design, maintain and secure networks and applications·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills·         Ability to hold yourself and others accountable on short-term and long-term goals·         Superior organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks·         Understanding of Intel-based computers using Microsoft based operating systems·         Use of Microsoft Office software applications to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint  Other:·         Ability to work 0730 – 1630 Monday - Friday with emergency recall available after hours
