Cyber Security Engineer

We’re seeking a Cyber Security Engineer to contribute to our mission to develop better medicines, faster, to people around the world joining a team of IT professionals, working together to protect the business, its data and employees.

The Cyber Security Engineer role will be involved in many aspects of Cyber Security for the business, ranging from day to day running of security tooling, analysing alerts, physical security and assisting in future planning and strategy with the Security Team.

The Cyber Security Engineer role is ideal for someone who may wish to experience planning, testing and implementing Cyber security across all areas of an exciting and expanding business or a senior technical person wishing to move into the Security arena.

As the Cyber Security Engineer, you will have the opportunity to:

• Assist in all areas of cyber security, including offensive and defensive.
• Assist in selecting and implementing industry leading technologies.
• Carry out analysis on security alerts, identifying and recommending actions on high risks.
• Day to day running of the Exscientia security toolset.
• Providing input into security strategies and future planning.
• Be responsible for Exscientia’s protective monitoring platform.
• Assist in implementing a security culture throughout the business.
• Create documentation and reports on cyber security for the business.

Requirements

• 3+ years’ experience in a Cyber Security or IT technical role in a cyber security focused company.
• A passion for Cyber Security and working as part of a team.
• Ability to plan own time effectively, able to prioritise key tasks, work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
• Basic technical knowledge above CompTIA+ level.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills.

Desirable Skills

• Experience with industry leading security toolsets, in EDR, Email, SOAR, Logging, Cloud, VPN.
• Experience in a SOC analyst role.
• Understanding of threat mapping and hunting landscapes.
• Familiarity with security frameworks such as ISO, SOX, NIST.
