DevSecOps Engineer

In this new role on our global Engineering and DevOps team, the DevSecOps Engineer will monitor and improve GumGum’s cloud security tools and processes as well as build automation for process enforcement. You will play a critical role in providing technical support for the day-to-day security needs of the business including tool integration, automation support, change management and business continuity.

Note: GumGum operates in a ‘work from home’ virtual environment with occasional opportunities for in-person business and company events (health guidelines permitting). There is no requirement to go into an office.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, design and configure security infrastructure systems in a globally distributed cloud environment. 
• Define, review existing and design new security requirements, standards and systems to ensure compliance with established security standards.
• Utilize multiple tools, technologies and scripting languages to automate tasks and integrate security into existing pipelines.
• Support and conduct internal audits, help mitigate findings and implement process and tolling improvements.
• Conduct network and system tests via simulation or other means to highlight and find exploitable weaknesses.
• Evangelize processes and the importance of security to engineers and key stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical, engineering or field or equivalent professional experience.
• At least 2 years of experience building production systems in cloud environments such as AWS (preferred), GCP or Azure with expertise in:
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tooling (such as Terraform and CloudFormation)
• Identity and Access Lifecycle Management Operations and Controls for various technologies (databases, cloud accounts, SSH, etc.)
• Container technologies (such as Docker and Kubernetes)
• Scripting languages (Bash, Python)
• Linux operating system distributions (Ubuntu, Red Hat)
• Key and secrets management systems (Vault, AWS Secrets Manager)
• Security Certifications such as CompTIA Security+ or AWS Certified Security Specialty preferred
• Enjoys working remotely as part of a geographically dispersed team
• Strong communications skills
• Cool, calm and collected attitude
• Excellent problem-solving skills - strive to find the root of problems rather than designing band-aids
• Enthusiasm for exploring and learning new technologies
