Amazon Application Security is looking for a security-focused Technical Program Manager who wants to make a difference and support Amazon builders to ensure that protecting customers data, is at the forefront of all development.

Our team approaches security challenges with empathy and curiosity to help service teams identify areas of improvement and guidance on how to remediate risk. Amazon Application Security focuses on enabling our builders to provide a secure and trustworthy experience to our customers without compromising the overall customer experience.

In this role you will work directly with security teams and service owners providing direct front line support and security expertise to Amazon teams.

This role will routinely challenge your background in technical product ownership, process development, operational and management skills, project management, critical thinking, relationship-building, and problem-solving. You will be self-directed and open to new challenges, adept at prioritization, innovation, and collaborating with others.

Key job responsibilities
As the Technical Program Manager on the team, you will:
  • Guide the evolution and adoption of internal security support solution used by Amazon builders.
  • Define and implement best practice methods, processes, tools and continuous improvement initiatives aimed at scaling and increasing the efficiency of Amazon’s security guidance and builder support processes.
  • Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders across security teams and services while advocating on behalf of our customers.
  • Collaborate cross functionally across the organization to align, unblock, and enable the teams to deliver on their security goals
  • Establish, monitor, and communicate metrics internally to identify and inform future

About the team
The Application Security Support Engineering team provides front line engagement to internal Amazon customers seeking Application Security guidance and support. Our direct interface with Amazon builders allows us to identify opportunities to simplify, strengthen, and optimize security processes to improve customer experience.

Basic Qualifications


  • 5+ years of experience working directly with engineering teams
  • 2+ years of technical program management experience
  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules




Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to prioritize projects, tasks, and deliverables and manage dynamic priorities
  • Product Management experience
  • Experience developing and delivering operational and program metrics
  • Ability to work independently and communicate across multiple time zones
  • Strong analytical, process management and reporting skills
  • Familiarity with information security domains and/or knowledge of security fundamentals
  • Experience engaging with and influencing leadership teams
  • Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation and standardization
