We're looking for a Senior Security Engineer to join our Identity team within Security Engineering based in Wellington, Auckland, Melbourne or Sydney! As a member of the Security Engineering team, you’ll ensure our platform security systems are deployed, maintained and innovated to best support the requirements of the Xero environment. About the team The Security Engineering team strives to make it easy for our customers to ship secure products with as little friction as possible.
For example, our team:
- Maintains access to our infrastructure and provides guidance & assistance to our internal customers
- We provide systems and tools that enable efficient and auditable access management within Xeros infrastructure
- Our vision is to ensure our customers have the access they need, when they need it, with zero friction via clever tools.
What you'll be doing:
- Manage software that solves Security Engineering problems at scale
- Collaborate with the team to help create and deliver beautiful software to our customers
- Contribute to Xero's engineering standards and frameworks
- Learn the business context, and make high impact decisions
- Contribute to discussions around technical, architectural and process improvements.
- Advocate for continuous improvement of systems and processes within the team, and across the organisation
- Establish and maintain good working relationships both within the development team and the wider organisation
- Work with technologies such as: AWS, GCP, Azure, Active Directory, Terraform, Python, Git, & React
What you'll bring with you:
- Proficient use of one or more of the above technologies and tools
- Develop, manage and support infrastructure and capabilities used by the Security Engineering teams
- Capable of working with other business units across Xero to identify event sources and detection capabilities needed to protect Xero in an ever changing threat landscape
- For more experienced Engineers, provide coaching, mentoring and guidance to members of the Security Engineering team
- Assist with Incident Response activities, using your knowledge to support the team
- Be a team player with the ability to engage and contribute towards a high performing team
- Bring a positive, growth mindset
