As our Director, Information Security you will…

Be Accountable and Responsible

The Director, InfoSec will report to both the VP, IT Leader and the Chief Operations Officer, and is responsible for coordinating, planning, and budgeting for all security matters for our employees, consultants, and vendors. You will be the central cog in the IT Infosec machine, ensuring smooth and secure delivery of services across all of our systems. The Director, Infosec will contribute to day to day operations with support escalation and troubleshooting, while developing an environment of security consciousness for the whole of the MERGE IT team and the Agency.

Core Responsibilities

  • Drive security strategy and execution of key security initiatives across the company
    • Establish KPIs for monitoring and reporting on security initiatives
  • Coordinating and executing IT security, and IT compliance projects for all offices
  • Serve as the named Information Security Officer for MERGE Boston, including:
    • Maintaining security, compliance, and other certifications as required by our work and clients; specifically, HITRUST certification
    • Writing, consulting on, and assisting with IT and security policy and procedure processes and approvals
    • Writing, consulting on, and assisting with client, potential client, or vendor security analysis and questionnaires
    • Defining Information Security program purpose and objectives
    • Developing and maintaining annual security plans as required by established policy and procedures
    • Identifying, evaluating, and (where appropriate) documenting accepted security risks on behalf of the organization
    • Defining and addressing security requirements through control implementation
    • Communicating security requirements effectively to employees and program stakeholders as appropriate
    • Defining information security and cybersecurity education programs and schedules
    • Overseeing and actively measuring security program effectiveness
    • Monitoring employee compliance with security policy, and working with the HR department when violations occur
  • Serving as the Information Security and HIPAA Compliance Officer
  • Interfacing with internal teams on information and cyber security matters as requested by the technology and management team
  • Work with the VP, IT Leader to create, update, test, and execute disaster recovery and business continuity plans for all our offices

These are the qualifications we're looking for

  • 7-10 years of relevant experience in Information Technology Security
  • Clear, concise communication skills
  • Current security-related certifications strongly preferred
  • Experience identifying and working with PII and PHI Data as well as securing that data in technology systems
  • Experience with Rapid7 or a similar vulnerability scanner strongly preferred
  • Experience with Data Loss, Prevention, Policy, Investigations, Security Tool Configuration and Incident Response
  • Experience managing distributed teams
