The Team & Role 

As a founding member of the security engineering team at Gem, you will play a foundational role in defining the security function at Gem. You will play a key role in scaling Gem’s engineering organization and business by building security systems and programs that enable the team to ship quickly while safeguarding our customers and their data. This is a hands-on generalist role with an opportunity to specialize as the team grows.

Responsibilities

As the leader of security engineering, you will be responsible for:
  • Product and production infrastructure security with an eye towards automation
  • Gem’s overall security posture 
  • Enabling product teams to build secure features with eye towards velocity
  • Operating the customer security review and compliance programs
  • Influence our IT security direction alongside Gem’s Compliance and IT leads
