At Netflix we do one thing - entertainment - and we aim to do it really well. To accomplish this goal, we must produce, distribute, and stream content on a massive scale. Various technology investments and a unique and creative culture enable us to achieve these business objectives. This also means that our security team needs to operate differently than a traditional security team. We aim to strike the right balance between allowing business innovation and pragmatic risk right-sizing. The Workforce Security team is responsible for managing corporate security risk across users, endpoints, vendors, and corporate networks. We achieve this mission by understanding the business context, providing opinionated guidance, and shaping the security strategy, architecture, and controls to manage risk in balance with business enablement. We operate across a broad scope and scale our charter through a comprehensive set of key partnerships. We are always thinking about the continually evolving business and how to keep them secure and effective.
We are looking for security engineers who will work collaboratively with our team to identify top areas of risk and vulnerabilities in the workforce security space. As you identify threats and opportunities, you will define appropriate risk reduction and shape mitigation strategies. You'll work cross-functionally to implement these security controls and strategies. Our ideal next team member considers the security landscape holistically, understanding there are many possible approaches and tactics to reduce risk.

Desired background

  • Understanding of enterprise security principles and best practices, including a working knowledge of endpoint security, user security, network security, and supply chain risk management, to name a few.
  • Track record of implementing and deploying security solutions.
  • Ability to understand business needs and develop solutions that are empathetic to people's experiences.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and can translate security objectives to cross-functional partners.
  • Experience using data to inform decisions and familiarity with quantified risk.
  • Prior M&A security expertise is a plus.
We are looking for thoughtful security professionals who enable our mission and support our culture of freedom and responsibility. You can learn more about life at Netflix by watching our security talks or exploring our open source work.
