Security Engineer/Architect

SambaNova Systems is looking for a passionate and innovative Security Engineer to drive a variety of initiatives. In this role you will provide technical leadership to help us deliver highly secure and compliant products and services. You will apply your deep experience in security best practices and software engineering to oversee the implementation of secure applications and infrastructure, while ensuring compliance with information security standards. 

How you will make an impact:

• Partner with engineering teams to enable a robust security posture from design through delivery
• Perform security design, code reviews and address application vulnerabilities
• Participate in architecture and design reviews with actionable and constructive solutions, to improve product security.
• Build a scalable infrastructure to identify security and stability issues in code, and address regressions. 
• Build and provide expertise with leading security tools to identify security vulnerabilities in application code as well as infrastructure components 
• Integrate open-source or commercial scanning tools into the CI/CD pipeline 
• Review and prioritize security findings, provide hands-on engineering expertise to assess risk, prototype fixes, and partner with development teams to implement. 
• Be the primary point of contact for external assessors to ensure compliance with information security requirements. 
• Stay current with existing and emerging security exploits and technologies and represent our security posture externally.

Your profile: 

• BS/MS in Computer science with 8+ years of hands-on experience as a Security Engineer.
• Experience in software development (knowledge of C, C++, Python) with demonstrable experience with application and infrastructure security in hybrid cloud environments
• Strong knowledge of web technologies, Linux operating system security, common security flaws in distributed systems, authentication systems, network communication protocols, encryption technologies, and infrastructure security requirements.
• Strong knowledge of security implementation in containers and container orchestration technologies like Kubernetes, etc.
• Hands-on experience with various security tools like Nessus, Burp, Zap, OWASP, and other DAST/SAST tools. 
• Foundational knowledge of cyber security and compliance 
• Ability to work with remote teams across multiple time zones - some travel is to be expected.
