The Role
We are seeking to fill the position of Junior/Information Security Engineer with a focus on Security toolset maintenance and operation in Hitachi Vantara’s Enterprise Information Security organization. This is a full-time position reporting to the director for Cybersecurity Operations.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain key security software and systems
  • Daily monitoring of systems to minimize downtime and ensure proper operation and system health
  • Follow proper change management and problem management procedures
  • Test and evaluate changes, patches, and signature updates to security systems, and perform
    deployments during change windows
  • Evaluate cybersecurity risks posed to the environment
  • Work with asset owners and infrastructure custodians to develop and review risk mitigation plans and
    track mitigation plans towards completion
  • Gather data and work with InfoSec reporting team to feed dashboards
  • Document architecture and processes
  • Find opportunities to automate routine maintenance tasks
  • Support security projects, work with project managers to execute project tasks
  • Support the InfoSec team’s overall Information Security Management program

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience with Information Security in the following areas is desirable:
    • Experience with Security product deployment
    • Experience with Windows and Linux system administration tasks including scripting and command line
  • The ideal candidate will have experience with following tools
    • Network Access Controls, such as Forescout
    • Anti-malware solutions, such as Carbonblack Defense
  • Understanding or experience of IT architectures and infrastructure, such as Windows administration,
    domain controller, Active Directory
  • Understanding of IT Service Management processes and concepts, such as Incident Management,
    Change Management, Problem Management
  • Full command of Microsoft Office tools, specifically Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Must be able to effectively use a wide range of Microsoft Office 365 tools, including Teams, SharePoint,
    PowerBI
  • Ability to automate frequently performed tasks using common scripting techniques, such as
    PowerShell, Python, Shellscripts
  • Good written and oral communication in English
  • Self-driven with a keen sense of learning new tools, technologies and practices
  • Attention to detail and quality is an absolutely must
  • Strong ethical values and sense of compliance
  • Flexibility to take on new responsibilities and non-routine tasks
  • Willingness to work in an international team
  • Available for on-call rotation, some operational tasks may require work outside of normal hours
