NOTE: Only candidates living in PA, NJ, WV, VA, NC, MD, DE will be considered as this is a Pre-sales role with some anticipated travel supporting customers in these states.

Summary:
The Security Engineer will assist Account Executives drive new business within the Mid-Atlantic accounts by providing technical security guidance and product recommendations. The Security Engineer will be instrumental in helping the prospects and customers evaluate product offerings. This position will be 100% focused on cyber-security solutions and provide the ability to look at and recommend interesting and new technologies within the space.

Role and Responsibilities:
● Focus on driving new business by working with the Account Executives within territory.
● Be part of a team that helps provide direction for engineering cyber-security solutions that will be offered to customers. Evaluate and analyze customer use cases and business requirements in order to make actionable recommendations.
● Learn new cyber-technologies and be able to articulate the value proposition and integrations throughout various products across the network stack.
● Report to the Director of Security Architecture within the Mid-Atlantic region.

Position Requirements:
● Minimum 2 years in an enterprise level security consultative, vendor, or operational role building and assessing Information Security architectures and programs
● Experience in multiple security technologies, including: network security and architecture, NGFW, cloud security, data security, vulnerability & risk management, proxy/SASE solutions, EDR, IAM, SIEM & Analytics
● Demonstrate a foundational understanding of CyberSecurity frameworks, solutions, and the general Threat Landscape that organizations face on a daily basis.
● Experience using and securing operating systems including Windows, OSX, and Linux
● A good listener to work with clients to understand issues/gaps in their security programs and works alongside them to provide solutions
● Proactively research and engage emerging vendors and technologies to understand how they may be used to solve our clients challenges
● Excellent soft skills with the ability to articulate complex technical content to both technical and non-technical audiences
● Perform product reviews, vendor comparisons, assist in Proof of Concept activities
● Security Solutions Analysts work from remote/virtual when not visiting client locations
● Position will require travel within the GuidePoint Mid-Atlantic region (NC,VA, MD, DC, PA, NJ)
● Expectations for this role is 90% Pre Sales/Sales and 10% Delivery

Technical Requirements:
● Proficiency in multiple security technologies, including: network security, NGFW, cloud security, DLP, CASB, Proxy, IAM, SIEM/Analytics, etc.
● Experience evaluating and comparing solutions, business outcomes, and feature requirements
● Basic networking and security troubleshooting experience
● Working technical knowledge of advanced security concepts (Zero trust, defense in depth, etc.)
● Experience in various client and server operating systems (Windows, Nix, OSX, etc.)
● Working technical knowledge of advanced security concepts (Zero Trust, Defense in Depth, etc.)
● Ability to present and articulate technical security solutions Preferred:
● Experience with security technologies including EPP/EDR, Email Security solutions, NGFW, Vulnerability Management

Educational & Professional Credentials
○ Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience
○ 2+ years of security engineering experience in the Information Security industry OR as a technical lead for an internal Information Security program
● Previous pre-sales experience is strongly preferred
