Job Description: 

As a component of AFS’ Emerging Technology and Cyber account, The Mission Platform Automation Group is seeking a highly motivated and experienced ISSE to join our team supporting our customers by rapidly deploying mission applications to the battlefield to give our warfighters tactical advantage over our adversaries. Candidates will be required to understand multi-cloud environments and working with Cloud API’s to mitigate risks to our cloud infrastructure. Candidates must be comfortable working in fast-paced DEVSECOPs environments utilizing data pipelines, cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, and containerized microservices.  

Responsibilities include:

• Identify, select, and implement applicable security controls for various operating systems and applications IAW NIST SP 800-37, Risk Management Framework
• Develop and maintain bodies of evidence (BOE) for managed information systems, custom applications, services, and networks
• Develop and disseminate system security policies, processes, and likewise governing products in service of maintaining a low operational risk posture
• Conduct internal vulnerability assessments and facilitate external audits
• Coordinate security related tasks and activities across other functional areas, e.g., Program Management, Engineering, Software Development, etc
• Produce documentation in response to, and satisfaction of, information security requirements
• Develop full ATO Packages and ATO supporting documentation, such as, SSPs, RARs, POAMs, SCTMs, RTMs, SLCMs, SARs, Certification Test Reports, Briefings, and training products
• Assist in a secure change management process and related Change Control Boards (CCB)
• Work with other teams across agencies and supporting DevSecOps across multiple security classifications
• Work in an Agile environment using Scrum and Kanban methodologies
• Identifying, defining, analyzing, and coordinating updates and maintenance requirements for a diverse technical architecture.
• Developing and enhancing processes, technical documentation, metric gathering, and reports.

The ideal candidate will be a driven team player that thrives in a team environment.  This candidate should be an exceptional problem solver with a demonstrated proficiency in critical analysis and abstract reasoning.  This candidate should have a strong sense of observation and the ability to lead the translation of observations into technical solutions. 

Basic Qualifications:

• BA/BS/MS degree in computer science, cybersecurity, or equivalent IT experience
• 5+ years of experience producing IAT-Related documentation and governance materials
• 3+ years of experience conducting Assessment and Authorization (A&A) using Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities; across all 6 steps
• 3+ years experience overseeing Windows, Linux, Public Cloud security
• 3+ years of experience and competency with the Microsoft Office Suite

Desired Skills:

• Strong coordination, organizational and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to effectively execute tasks, resolve issues, and meet challenging schedules.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
• Security related certification (CISSP, CASP, etc)
• Experience with DevOps environments, especially as it relates to microservices
• Understanding of DoD/IC Certification and Accreditation (C&A) processes and concepts (IPAT, ASDS, DIACAP, DISA STIGs, etc.)
• Experience in research and development programs leveraging Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
• Experience Supporting Development teams
