We take a systemic approach to security and strive to ensure we provide low-friction high-impact security initiatives. We are looking for several competent Technical Program Managers to support and enable these efforts. As a TPM, you understand the benefits of moving quickly and can champion methodologies within your team and across the organization. You will play a meaningful role in improving and scaling our security initiatives. You make decisions that are fair and consistent, with an eye toward velocity, stability, and scale. You thrive when given the chance to create programs and have a customer-centric approach. 

Key job responsibilities
* Defines and implements best practice methods, processes, tools and continuous improvement initiatives aimed at scaling and increasing the efficiency of Amazon’s security review processes
* Builds and manages relationships with key stakeholders and advocates for customers’ needs for the purpose of driving continuous improvement and delivering projects
* Working cross functionally across the company team, you will align, unblock and enable the team to deliver on its security goals
* Measure, monitor, and communicate metrics internally
* Communicate status and schedules, manage risks, help reports evaluate trade-offs, and call out blockers as necessary
* Leverage internal data warehouse and visualization tools to identify gaps, track progress and make data backed program decisions.


A day in the life
* Defining and running our processes for project management and task resourcing, including running meetings with dozens of participants
* Execution of existing and defining new programs, writing formal documentation such as project charters or program narratives
* Acting as sole or contributing author to press releases, FAQs, and narrative documents in support of technical initiatives
* Crafting detailed and accurate reports for consumption by VPs and below surrounding program-related issues and initiatives
* Working closely with staff on other teams to align security engineering roadmaps


About the team
The Developer Security Operations organization manages the security of Amazon’s software development lifecycle,. From ideation to launch, you will have direct impact across the company as you enable Amazon developers and product teams to build and operate secure systems and services. We are currently experiencing incredible growth and want you to be a part of it!

Basic Qualifications


  • 5+ years of experience working directly with engineering teams
  • 2+ years of technical program management experience
  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or two years of equivalent training, fellowship, or work experience.
* Ability to work independently and communicate across multiple time zones
* Strong verbal and written communication skills, with sufficient level of technical capability to effectively communicate with engineers, scope technical programs, and identify technical risks
* High attention to detail and initiative. Ability to adapt quickly.
* Ability to prioritize projects, tasks, and deliverables and manage dynamic priorities
* Strong analytical, process management and reporting skills
* Results-driven and customer-obsessed!

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 2+ years of security specific technical experience.
  • Security certification(s) such as SSCP, CEH, CISM, or CISSP
  • Understanding of the secure SDLC
  • Familiarity with information security domains and/or knowledge of security fundamentals
