Job Description: 

As a component of AFS’ Emerging Technology and Cyber account, the Mission Platform Automation Group is seeking a highly motivated and experienced ISSE to join our team supporting our customers by rapidly deploying mission applications to the battlefield to give our warfighters tactical advantage over our adversaries. Candidates will be required to understand multi-cloud environments and working with Cloud API’s to mitigate risks to our cloud infrastructure. Candidates must be comfortable working in fast-paced DEVSECOPs environments utilizing data pipelines, cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, and containerized microservices.   

Responsibilities include:

  • Integrating & maintaining security tools into the development & operations pipeline, to include microservices
  • Perform troubleshooting and problem resolution to ensure auditing and monitoring services remain available
  • Collaborate with DevOps Engineers and Infrastructure Engineers to ensure solutions are supported through the RMF steps
  • Reporting security posture of the system to the ISSM & assist with relevant documentation
  • Analyze issues and recommend alternative solutions to customers and the operational community
  • Work with other teams across agencies and supporting DevSecOps across multiple security classifications
  • Support automation and monitoring to release applications more frequently
  • Work in an Agile environment using Scrum and Kanban methodologies
  • Identifying, defining, analyzing, and coordinating updates and maintenance requirements for a diverse technical architecture.
  • Developing and enhancing processes, technical documentation, metric gathering, and reports.
  • Troubleshooting and engineer solutions to production, integration, and development environments.

The ideal candidate will be a driven team player that thrives in a team environment.  This candidate should be an exceptional problem solver with a demonstrated proficiency in critical analysis and abstract reasoning.  This candidate should have a strong sense of observation and the ability to lead the translation of observations into technical solutions

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS Degree and five years professional IT experience OR nine years professional IT experience without a relevant degree
  • 3+ years experience integrating security compliance and vulnerability tools into a development pipeline
  • 3+ years of experience with the RMF process and implementing security controls and demonstrated ability to develop and track progress of a Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M)
  • 3+ years engaging with Authorizing Officials and other government representatives

Desired Skills:

  • Strong coordination, organizational and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to effectively execute tasks, resolve issues, and meet challenging schedules
  • Security related certification (Cloud, SIEM, forensics, Linux, Windows, etc)
  • Experience with Splunk, Elasticsearch, ACAS/Nessus, McAfee, Cloud security
  • Understanding of DoD/IC Certification and Accreditation (C&A) processes and concepts (IPAT, ASDS, DIACAP, DISA STIGs, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of build automation and continuous integration/delivery ecosystem: Git, Maven/Gradle, Jenkins, Docker, Nexus, Ansible, Terraform, HELM
  • Experience in research and development programs leveraging Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
  • Experience Supporting Development teams
  • Demonstrated experience with supporting of complex technical projects and team leads

Security Clearance:

  • Active DoD TS/SCI Clearance
