As a Senior Corporate Security Engineer at Nextdoor, you will work closely with IT, engineering, product, legal, and audit to protect Nextdoor’s networks, computers, and data by building and managing security solutions in a high growth, hybrid/remote workforce environment utilizing zero trust architecture, Macs (not Windows), and cloud native infrastructure.

Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Design, build, and manage security solutions to protect endpoints, business applications, cloud infrastructure, and identity and access management
  • Leverage platforms and APIs to automate tasks, analyze data, and create dashboards
  • Perform threat modeling, vulnerability assessments, and communicate risk
  • Balance the needs of security with a fast moving, agile business
  • Participate in security incident response and planning

What You’ll Bring To The Team

  • A technical understanding of modern best practices for operating and securing enterprise systems (G-suite, Okta, SAAS apps)
  • Experience in authentication, identity & access management, device management systems, access security and/or zero trust solutions
  • Experience building tools and services with Python, Golang, or other programming languages
  • 5+ years experience in System Engineering, Security Engineering, or IT with coding experience
  • Deep technical expertise in at least one security domain such as application, cloud, or endpoint and the ability to communicate attacks, vulnerabilities, and the controls in that domain
  • Passion for automation and enabling others

Bonus Points

  • Contributed to open-source security automation tools
  • Security and/or cloud certifications such as GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH), Cloud Security Automation (GCSA), AWS Solutions Architect, AWS DevOps Engineer, and AWS Security Specialty
  • Familiarity with control frameworks such as the NIST Cybersecurity Framework and Center for Internet Security Controls for Effective Cyber Defense
