We help clients take pioneering technology to the limits by combining our expertise in machine learning, data engineering, and analytics. With Google Cloud Platform as our foundation, we help businesses future-proof their solutions, deepen their understanding of consumers, increase competitive advantage and unlock operational efficiencies.

We are currently in the process of recruiting our first IT & Information Security Manager. Up until this point, our CTO and CIO have managed IT and Security, but we're now at a point in our growth where we require a dedicated role. We're looking for an experienced practitioner who can manage all areas of IT and Information Security across the business, which will necessitate implementing and maintaining best practices for ISO 27001 & ISO/IEC 31010. As a Cloud-native company, the vast majority of our work is on Google Cloud, and therefore we are seeking someone with strong knowledge of cloud computing and cybersecurity.

THE ROLE

You'll be responsible and accountable for the smooth running of our systems and will supervise the implementation and maintenance of all of our company’s computing needs. From an information security perspective, you'll oversee all matters relating to this area and operate as the 'brains' of the organisation.

Your responsibilities will include:

General IT Management:

  • Manage information technology and computer systems
  • Design, develop, implement, and coordinate systems, policies, and procedures
  • Act in alignment with user needs and system functionality to contribute to organisational policy
  • Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions in time
  • Handle annual budget and ensure cost-effectiveness

Information Security:

  • Providing subject matter advice and guidance, as the lead technical authority within the company on cyber and security, applying standard security techniques and architectures to mitigate security risks
  • Understanding the operational environment of the equipment and the cyber security risks that this presents, identifying threats, vulnerabilities and mitigations
  • Assessing system changes (technology or process) for potential cyber safety risks and proposing effective mitigation
  • Oversee information security audits, whether performed by organisation or third-party personnel
  • Implement and oversee technological upgrades, improvements and major changes to the information security environment
  • Serve as a focal point of contact for the information security team and the customer or organisation
  • Communicate information security goals and new programs effectively with other department managers within the organisation
  • Provide training to new starters during onboarding

Requirements

  • The successful candidate will have proven professional experience and detailed knowledge of best practices in IT and Information Security
  • Proven working experience as an IT Manager, Information Security Manager, or CyberSecurity Manager
  • Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and computer hardware/software systems
  • Expertise in cloud computing and data governance
  • Solid knowledge of GDPR, national data protection laws and ways of handling confidential information
  • Excellent community skills, verbal and written
  • BS in Computer Science, MIS or similar field
