Cyber Security Manager

In March 2016, Quantexa was founded by a team with decades of experience in software, data, and advanced analytics. In just over five years, we’ve grown from a few desks huddled in the corner of a shared space to having over 515 staff worldwide! Having just completed our Series D funding round, we are now in a rapid scale up phase. Due to our continued success and high demand from our clients, we are looking for a Cyber Security Manager to join our Information Security team protecting Quantexa against information security and cyber security threats such as malware, phishing, ransomware, and other targeted attacks.

What will you be doing?

The information security function supports and enables the business by working proactively and responsively to keep our data and our customer’s data secure by identifying and remediating potential risks, vulnerabilities, and stopping any potential cyber-attacks from materialising.

Responsibilities Summary

Day to day defensive blue team security operations, key input into security architecture and design, Incident management and response, threat hunting, outsource SOC management, enhancing and improving the current alerting and monitoring processes, collaborating with our managed SOC to develop security use cases, onboard new log data sources, develop automated incident response processes. Mentor other members of the team and grow the technical capabilities of the team.

Requirements

Responsibilities & Skills may include but are not limited to:

• Day to day management of the security operations pillar
• Expected technical to management competency is 60:40
• Overall management, continuous improvement, and maturing of the outsourced security operations
• Assist Q teams in the selection and adoption of security controls, supporting the principles of Security by Design
• Act as a focal point for Security Operations and related queries
• Contribute to the improvement of our logging pipelines and security analytics
• Work with our internal development teams (R&D) to enhance the security of our products
• Own CE+ and maintain the operational security requirements for ISO/IEC 27001 and SOC 2 (Type 1)
• Work with the Business Continuity function to integrate and improve the Incident Response program
• Engage & collaborate with third-party vendors providing security testing services (penetration testing etc.)

Essential Skills

• Previous direct line management experience and supplier management
• Good knowledge across the following:
  • Operating Systems (various)
  • Vulnerability Management (processes and procedures)
  • Incident Response
  • Cloud Security
• Recruit, retain, develop, and motivate team members. This includes participating in recruitment, performance management, ensuring role appraisals are completed, ensuring appropriate objectives and development plans are put in place
• Ability to work proactively and collaboratively
• Develop lasting relationships with broader Quantexa teams
• Good level of analytical skills, relevant project management experience with a demonstrated record
• Ability to remain calm in high-stress situations
• Ability to handle multiple competing priorities and multiple work streams in a fast-paced FinTech environment
• Prior experience using the M365 security stack and Microsoft Sentinel solutions
• Good presentation, communication, and influencing skills
