Security Response Lead

Overview

The primary objective of the Security Response Lead is to lead the protection of BitMEX from external and internal threats. You will manage an orderly, rapid and effective response to security incidents. This includes but not limited to: intrusions, insider threats and abuse.

Responsibilities

• Lead the direction of the Security Response team, the services it provides to the business, and the design and implementation of the security architecture, tooling, software, and services.
• Investigate security incidents, drive them to resolution and ensure follow-through on post-mortem items.
• Collaborate with partner teams, including DevOps, executives, HR, and Legal.
• Lead the prioritisation, planning and execution of security programmes around detection & response, security investigations, threat intelligence, and eDiscovery using the OKR methodology.
• Manage a group of multi-national senior ICs based in various locations and timezones, and be responsible for mentoring, motivation, performance, career growth and wellness.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant security experience, focused on D&R or DFIR
• 5+ years of senior member of a global 24/7 security team
• A thorough understanding of emerging adversary tactics, techniques and procedures
• Strong written and oral communication skills 
• Experience in designing efficient and effective security processes to directly support business objectives, in other words: be an enabler and facilitator, not a blocker
• Strong Amazon Web Services, and general Cloud (SaaS and IaaS) security skills
• Experience with macOS and Linux operating systems
• Experience with Kubernetes and related telemetry
