Cloud Security Engineer

As a Cloud Security Engineer on the Information Security team, you'll work with our security operations, cloud engineering, and application development teams to deliver security solutions across Paymerang’s cloud environment. This role will allow you to work on all aspects of the AWS cloud security ecosystem. Whether it's ensuring an optimized WAF and set of security groups are deployed to protect endpoints and data, deploying unified backup services to support continuity of operations, or implementing security inspections into the DevOps pipeline, there are many exciting opportunities to lead in the cloud security stack.

In this role, you will:

• Own the required security safeguards and guardrails for networks, application workloads, system management, remote communications/transfers, storage/backups, and pipelines across the cloud environment.
• Architect and implement scalable security and governance solutions using the vast array of AWS-native services.
• Continually improve the cloud security posture as part of the continuous security testing program.
• Propose and drive security projects/initiatives to completion.
• Shorten security feedback loops and further the Shift-Left DevSecOps lifecycle using cloud-based tooling.

• AWS Automation: AWS CLI, CloudFormation, and Cloud Development Kit (CDK)
• Programming Languages: Typescript / Python / JavaScript

Requirements

• B.S. in relevant coursework or equivalent experience and certifications
  
• 4+ years work experience with increasing responsibility
• 2-4 years of experience with AWS Security, Identity, Compliance, Management, and Governance Services
• 1-2 years of experience or equivalent in implementing security automation
• At least 1 year of experience using AWS IaC tools
• 1-2 years of experience as security control owner for PCI-DSS or SOC2
• 1-2 years of experience designing security into cloud solutions
• Act as point of contact for vendor relationships and support for assigned security solutions
• Demonstrated technical troubleshooting skills
• Experience leading teams and guiding less experienced resources in daily activities
• 1-2 years of experience or equivalent in a typed language preferred
• System Administration of Windows and Linux operating systems preferred
• Experience with network security tools such as firewalls, VPNs, and packet analyzers preferred
