Sr. Security Engineer, Threat Detection and Response Infrastructure

About the Role

As a Security Engineer at Nuro, you will play a key role in securing the future of autonomous vehicles. In this role, you will:

• Research, evaluate, then deploy commercial/open source software for security incident detection and response

• Build the glue between incompatible systems 
• Advise security engineers on designing scalable systems 
• Maintain and support logging infrastructure, storage, and networking systems, in cloud and on-prem systems
• Build a reliable and scalable security service

About You 

• Hands-on experience deploying end-point detection capabilities across a diverse network of systems to include:
• MacOS
• Linux
• Embedded devices
• Real-time systems
• Autonomous Vehicles
• Cloud infrastructure
• Experience integrating multiple log aggregation tools
• You can write in at least one general-purpose programming language
• Experience reasoning about performance, scalability, and reliability
• Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, and analytical skills

Bonus Points

• Experience in system administration, site reliability engineering, security detection & response, software engineering, or similar roles
• Experience working with SIEMs, SOARs, Vulnerability Scanners,  or similar tools
• Experience working with Google Cloud, Kubernetes
• Skills in penetration testing, red teaming, product security assessments, threat modeling, security design, etc. 
• Experience in detection engineering, incident response, or forensics
• Expertise in high-fidelity signal development and threat hunting
