We are looking for an ISSO/ Security Manager to support an large enterprise Assessment and Authorization program. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who is engaged, energetic, and willing to learn. This could be the opportunity that launches your ISSO/IA career to the next level. In this exciting junior level role, you will gain experience performing risk assessments of applications within an enterprise that consists of over 600,000 employees, 500,000 devices, 200,000 enterprise email accounts, 200,000 endpoints, 800 firewall sets, and 640+ URLs of which 350 require web application firewall protection.
This job is located in Merrifield, VA , Morrisville, NC, or Eagan, MN with some remote capability during the pandemic at the discretion of the customer. Preferred candidates will live within a commutable distance to these locations.
What You'll Do
- Assist with the Certification and Accreditation (C&A) of standalone computers and networks.
- Support the execution of product cybersecurity elements across global programs and services.
- Will work with multiple security, IT and engineering leadership/stakeholders and a variety of security, IT and engineering technical resources to identify and plan physical and cybersecurity work to meet/exceed corporate initiatives.
- Follows established procedures to assist in the vulnerability scans and/or implementation of security measures and controls
- Participates in the security analysis process by applying security principles, methods (e.g., risk assessment, systems security planning, disaster recovery planning) and tools
- Review systems to identify potential security weaknesses, recommend improvements to amend vulnerabilities, implement changes, and document upgrades.
- Identify organization risks, prioritize those risks, and maintain a risk registry for escalating.
- Execute business impact assessments and system security reviews using a formal C&A structure.
- Assess external cybersecurity risks to an organization either through customer or supplier interaction
- Follow audit policy and reporting mechanisms for ensuring compliance with IA/IS standards by keeping current with IA/IS requirements.
- Assist in the development of risk management by creating plans, procedures, protocols, and evaluation measures and ensuring there are desired levels of enterprise-wide IA/IS.
Requirements
Education + Experience
- A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, similar technical discipline or equivalent experience
- U.S. Citizenship
- 1+ years of experience working as an Information Assurance Analyst or similar role for an information technology, information assurance, or information management program.
- Basic knowledge and ability in determining a system’s security; recognize how changes in conditions, operations, or the environment causes impact
- Ability to explain risk and security measures to less technical audiences.
Certifications
- Security+ or similar preferred
Security Clearance Requirements
- Ability to obtain Public Trust (or higher) government clearance. Active USPS Sensitive clearance preferred.
