- Provide the autonomy to define/prioritize problems and propose/implement solutions

What You Can Do For Expel
- Understand how our applications and infrastructure are built and help us level up our security game
- Find opportunities to automate and streamline how security is applied via code to ensure repeatable solutions
- Stay informed on trends in the DevSecOps industry and consider how they may apply to Expel
- Advocate for new and different ways to integrate security tools and processes
- Build and continuously update internal and end-user documentation and standard operating procedures
- Add more humor to our day to days (we regularly poke fun at our leadership team in creative ways)
What You Should Bring With You
- The knowledge that security can always be improved and trust in yourself to feel comfortable asking “could this be more secure if we do X?”
- An interest in explaining things clearly that encourages collaborative problem solving
- Knowing when to do “just enough” engineering and not over architect solutions
- An understanding of the software supply chain and how products go from idea to deployment
- Comfort with cloud-native technologies and a working understanding or experience in securing them
- Ability to balance a combination of tactical and project level work
- Outstanding technology problem solving ability and root cause analysis
- A college degree or credible panache
Pay range: $132,500 USD to $190,800 USD + bonus eligibility and equity.
We believe in paying transparently and equitably. Your salary will ultimately be based on factors such as your experience, skills, team equity, and market data. You’ll also be eligible for unlimited PTO (which we model and encourage), work location flexibility, up to 24 weeks of parental leave, and really excellent health benefits.
This role is based in our Herndon, Virginia office, with the flexibility to work remotely.
