Linktree is looking for a senior leader to build and operate Linktree's capability to secure its products and development practices. As one of the inaugural leaders of the security team, you will work closely with the Chief Information Security Officer to translate the security vision into strategy and action. You will architect the security infrastructure, and processes adopted by Engineering, Platform and Support teams, having a meaningful impact immediately while shaping the direction of Linktree's product security strategy.

Responsibilities

• Setting Linktree’s product security strategy
• Developing and maintaining a roadmap for product security
• Implementing effective product security technology and process
• Measuring and improving Linktree’s security posture
• Hiring and managing a team of product security specialists and software engineers
• Driving product teams’ ownership and measurement of product security posture
• Setting policy and standards for product and infrastructure security
• Providing expert advice and assurance to product teams

Requirements

• Experience building scalable product security or application security capabilities
• Knowledge of product security engineering processes and technologies
• People leadership and management skills
• Familiarity with modern cloud software engineering practices and architectures
• Deep knowledge of modern web application security flaws and defences
• Previous experience within a product company (a plus!)

In this role, success will be measured by

• The effectiveness of the product security capabilities built, relative to leading technology scale-ups
• Reduction in Linktree product attack surface and risk profile
• Reduction systemic security issues and removal of attack classes in products
• Scalability of product security capabilities implemented
• Effectiveness of incentives to drive security-by-design culture in product teams

Where & How We Work
We are a global, diverse group across age, gender, and race and offer a truly flexible and family friendly work environment. Kids, pets, and the occasional delivery person are all actively encouraged to appear on our Zoom screens. All of us at Linktree work either fully remote or a hybrid "remote, but in-office sometimes" approach and that will continue even when COVID is behind us.
We currently have offices in Melbourne, Sydney and LA is coming next, but our team is spread across Australia, United States, and New Zealand. Growing from 20 people in early 2020, to 50 in 2021 and over 200 in 2022, Linktree is still growing rapidly!
Being globally distributed doesn't mean working to one timezone and we offer autonomy and flexibility in how you structure your days and weeks. There will be the need for some collaboration outside of a "normal" 9-5 being a global company, but we aim to work asynchronously where possible.
