About the Role 
As an API and web application based product, security is vital to Lean’s success. As the Product Security Engineer you will play a key part in discovering bugs and security vulnerabilities within Lean’s products, applications and infrastructure. This requires an in-depth understanding of the product and its various applications to serve potential use cases.  You will be tasked with developing a strategic testing approach to uncover vulnerabilities from low hanging fruit all the way to deep underlying vulnerabilities across the product and then work with our cyber security, engineering and product teams to ensure all bugs and vulnerabilities are remediated. You will also have the support of our cyber security consultant who will assist you in testing strategies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Understand the security flavour of Lean platform, flows, architecture and use cases. 
  • Work closely with our Engineering teams to gain in-depth knowledge of our systems.
  • Offer support to engineering team to fix the identified security defects and/or security incidentsConsistently deliver on commitments on time and with quality.
  • Perform white/grey box penetration testing , including manual source code review.
  • Identify key areas for improvements to the security posture of the Lean platform.
  • Pen test new releases of the app as soon as they have been launched to identify any bugs and security vulnerabilities as quickly as possible
  • Write detailed reports on your findings submit to the security teamBe responsible for driving security improvement through finding vulnerabilities in the product
  • Perform peer-review for the work delivered by other colleagues. Collaborate with a great team of security experts and work in a lab environment.
  • Interest to further deepen product security expertise.

Requirements

  • You will be required to have at least four years experience in security testing :web application, infrastructure APIs.
  • Experience in running application security testing tools like scanners/ interceptors (e.g. Burp, ZAP) ,SAST, DAST and Infrastructure Vulnerability Scanning.
  • Solid understanding of information security principles , secure coding techniques, security in the SDLC and the evolving threat landscape.
  • Hands-on experience on infrastructure security scanning
  • Good understanding of secure development practices such as  Open SAMM (OWASP) ,BSIMM or NIST SSDF
  • Ability  to read and understand code in any of the following programming languages: Python ,Java, Javascript, nodejs, SWIFT.
  • Understanding of various software security vulnerabilities, threats and attack vectors on different environments, reverse engineering and mitigation techniques.

Nice To Have

  • BSc (Hons) Cyber Security or Computer Engineering.
  • Experience with threat modellingUnderstanding and experience with DevSecOps practicesUnderstanding of iOS or Android Internals.
  • Offensive Security certifications like :CEH, OSCP, OSCE, OSWE, OSEP, CPSA.
  • Knowledge of current information security standards and regulations such as PCI DSS, ISO27000 series, and GDPR.
