Information Security Intern

Position Overview

The Information Security Intern at Intelex is responsible for operating information security controls and working closely with cross-functional business partners within the EHS Platform companies to which Intelex belongs to identify and manage risk.  This is a hands-on position that requires an individual with a technical background to contribute with a team that secures the 24/7 corporate operations of the company and its data centers around the world.

Responsibilities and Deliverables

• Engaged in Identity and Access Management (IAM) duties including:
  • Maintain awareness and insight into internal and external software and systems
  • Ensure the provisioning and management of credentials across multiple systems maintain alignment with the provisions of the information security management system (ISMS)
  • Undertake regular inspections for non-compliant accounts (non-expiring passwords, stale/locked-out accounts, etc.)
  • Take lead in regular IAM reviews including quarterly employment verification and privilege revalidation exercises
• Manage information security-related projects to completion, exerting influence and inspiring enthusiastic participation, for example
  • Leverage attack and vulnerability scanning tools to test, and enable the various teams to test, the organization’s assets for vulnerabilities
  • Performing user access review of the file server and migrating departments to MS Teams or Sharepoint
  • Moving intranet web content representing the team to the corporate Sharepoint
  • Gathering the security features of our products and compliance practices as a draft for marketing publication on our company web site
• Gather and report on key performance indicators, generate readable and meaningful outputs which illustrate the company’s information security posture
• Regularly review and updating of ISMS documentation, facilitating participation from owners, and consulted individuals, then ensure that documents are properly registered in the Document Control system

Organizational Alignment

• Reports directly to the Chief Information Security Officer

Qualifications

Skills & Work Traits

• This position requires:
  • Willingness to learn time and project management acumen, able to handle concurrent initiatives
  • English language writing skills, able to author complete documents with little need for grammatical or formatting assistance and revision
  • Average English language verbal communication skills, able to articulate ideas and concepts effectively
  • Continuous learning mentality, able to maintain existing skillsets while progressively embracing new ones

Technical Competencies

Preferred:

• Experience documenting technical operating processes and procedures

Education

Required:

• In pursuit of a post-secondary education in a related field such as Information Security, Cybersecurity, Risk Management, Information Systems or Computer Science
