AnaVation is seeking a Part-time Cybersecurity Architect to join our team and support our mission critical customer in Reston, VA. As our Cybersecurity Architect, you would provide support to monitor, analyze, and detect Cyber events and incidents within information systems and networks under general supervision. The Cybersecurity Architect is responsible for the design, development, implementation, and integration of a DoD IA architectures, systems, or system components for use within computing, network, and enclave environments. You will assist with integrated dynamic Cyber defense: coordinating and maintaining security toolsets to support organizations’ continuous monitoring and ongoing authorization programs and establish a framework by which cyber risk can be measured. The Cybersecurity Architect will determine security requirements and prepare cost estimates by evaluating business strategies and requirements, researching information security standards, conducting system security vulnerability analyses and risk assessments, studying architecture/platform, and identifying integration issues. Other duties include implementing security systems by specifying intrusion detection methodologies and equipment, directing equipment and software installation and calibration, preparing preventive and reactive measures, creating, transmitting, and maintaining keys, completing documentation, and verifying security systems by developing and implementing test scripts.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications (Education/Certificates, Experience, Physical, etc.):
  • Clearance: Active TS/SCI Clearance with Polygraph
  • Education & Years of Experience: Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of experience related to specific functional area
  • Certifications: Currently hold, or be able to attain a CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification 
  • Experience and knowledge on:
  • Working collaboratively across cross-functional teams of all experience levels
  • Creating, maintaining, and updating related knowledge management and technical documentation
  • Developing and applying advanced methods, theories and research techniques to define engineering requirements.
  • Providing guidance and direction for analysis, investigation, implementation, and testing of complex and advanced information systems requiring expert application of advanced knowledge.
  • Designing technical architectures
  • Development and application of advanced research techniques to software, hardware, policy and/or communications functional requirements or interfaces.
  • Implementation of strategic plans for complex or large-scale information systems.

Desired Qualifications

  • Security certifications: CCNA Security, CySA+, SSCP, or equivalent certification
  • AWS or Cloud certifications
