Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) and Planned Parenthood Action Fund (PPAF) seek a Security Operations Center Lead responsible for the day to day operations of the Security Operations Center (SOC). This job reports to the Director of Physical Security in the Global Safety and Security (GSS) department of PPFA. Global Safety and Security provides security, intelligence, and risk management for the organization. This role is based in our NYC office.
Purpose: The SOC Lead will play an integral role in ensuring the safety of employees, contractors, visitors, guests and company property, as they lead the day to day SOC Operations and contract guard force.
Delivery:  ● Leads all activities of the SOC; must be able to ensure that the SOC and guard force is performing all required tasks in accordance with defined policies, standards, and security best practices. ● Duties include, but are not limited to: answering, and responding to, routine and emergency calls, monitoring alarms and video equipment including fire alarms, door alarms, and duress alarms; dispatching security officers, facilities, police, fire and EMS personnel as required; preparing written reports in accordance with established procedures. ● Analyzes situations promptly and accurately; quickly adopts prompt, effective and reasonable courses of action, with regards to surrounding hazards and circumstances. ● Manages the scheduling and staffing of the contract guard force in the NYC and DC offices. Maintains all SOC equipment and immediately escalates any problems to the appropriate entity. ● Assists in the servicing, updating, installation and/or work related to security equipment in the National Offices, with the ability to work closely with partners such as IT, InfoSec and Facilities. ● Assists with investigations as directed, to include evidence retrieval and appropriate documentation. ● Assists with social media monitoring as directed by the Director of Physical Security for PPFA events and as directed. ● Assists and works closely with InfoSec and Facilities and monitors internal workspaces and data storage systems. ● Assists with implementation and compliance of PPFA’s Insider Threat Program. ● Assists with management of PPFA’s mass notification system ● As directed, and necessary, will provide updates to GSS leadership regarding safety and security incidents, actionable physical security concerns, and contemporaneous events likely to impact PPFA’s National or Global Offices. ● Other duties as assigned by the Director of Physical Security or other GSS leaders.
This role may be requested to assume responsibility for the delivery and engagement of the Director of Physical Security’s scope of work, as well as coordination with other GSS leaders. 
Engagement: ● Provides appropriate timely updates to his/her management regarding security events, concerns/violations, incident response resolutions and lessons learned. ● Regularly reviews standard operating procedures and protocols to ensure SOC and the guard force continues to effectively meet operational requirements. ● Oversees training and exercises to maintain the SOC and guard force team’s proficiency. ● Oversees Lost & Found in the National Offices. ● Assists in collecting SOC related metrics and data on a regular basis. ● Represents the PPFA Global Safety and Security Team in a courteous manner and serves as an important representative to staff, vendors and visitors.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):  ● 4 years working in a Security Operations Center (SOC/GSOC) preferred.  ● Minimum of 2 years as a SOC Shift Lead. ● Strong technical competence, particularly in video management and alarm monitoring systems, with a strong understanding of security operations. ● The ability to multitask, prioritize, work under time constraints and resolve issues with minimal supervision. ● Strong interpersonal, communications and leadership skills needed for working with contract support, peers, and management. ● Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Forms and Gmail. ● Excellent written communications and report writing skills. ● Leads team by example; maintains a neat and professional appearance, with friendly and professional demeanor. ● Travel will be minimal, but must have willingness to travel as required, to support the Global Safety and Security Team. ● Candidate must be willing to work 24×7×365 and be able to respond after hours, if needed. ● High School Diploma; Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Starting salary: $64K

Final offers for this job will be based on capabilities and will be made within the parameters of the PPFA compensation program.
