Job Summary
We have an opportunity for a Senior Director, Information Security to join our Corporate IT team in our Richmond, BC headquarters or remote in Canada. In this role, you will report to the Vice President of IT and Information Security and hold a critical role within Sierra Wireless. 
The primary purpose of this position is to set and maintain the overall corporate strategy concerning cyber security within the Sierra Wireless Information Security Program. This includes developing information security strategies, technology best practices, vulnerability management, access controls, vendor risk management, cloud security, security architecture and Disaster Recovery / Contingency Planning. 

Responsibilities

  • Manage the development and delivery of IT security standards, architecture and systems to ensure data and information security across the company.
  • Work collaboratively with all business units to assure compliance with government, business, and other international regulatory policies and laws related to information security and privacy.
  • Assesses information systems, oversee and deploy security awareness programs, assist in responding to security inquiries, develop the security and privacy components that support overall Sierra Wireless business strategy, leads exco (board-level) presentations on cybersecurity, and develop strategies to reduce risk and allow for business continuity.

Required Education, Experience & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in information security or information technology and five years of related experience in information security, a Certified Information Systems Professional (CISSP) or a Certified Information Security Management (CISM).
  • 3 years' experience leading a security team
  • Expert knowledge of business risk, risk assessment, and risk-based decision making
  • Knowledge of security, risk and control frameworks and standards such as ISO 27001, CIS v8, NIST, FISMA, COBIT, and ITIL
  • Knowledge of OSI, IT infrastructure, cloud, application development languages, tools and frameworks, database technologies, web technologies, next-gen mobile, network architecture, enterprise architecture, secure development, and directory services
  • Knowledge of firewall, intrusion detection, cyber-attack tools and defenses, encryption, certificate authority, web filtering, anti-malware, anti-phishing, identity and access management, multi-factor authentication
  • Good understanding of and ability to communicate industry developments, and the role and impact of technology in the university
  • Understanding of cloud, SaaS, and IoT architectures and their implications on information security strategy
  • Excellent customer service, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent analytical reasoning, problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and collaborative skills
  • Ability to develop and execute information security policies and procedures
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Able to communicate security and risk-related concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences (in business terms)
  • Ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional, interdisciplinary teams to achieve tactical and strategic goals; an innovative leader, problem solver and consultant
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in high-pressure situations
  • Ability to provide effective mentorship and coaching to individuals and teams
