Cloud Security Architect

Job location: This is a remote position in Canada

This position requires participation in occasional on-call shifts and to travel from time to time.

About the team

The Cloud Services Team provides a secure, stable, and scalable platform for Kinaxis' hosted services. We are responsible for ensuring service performance and availability to our customers globally, 7x24x365. We architect, maintain, and operate our unique infrastructure across both private and public cloud platforms. We also provide APIs, tools, services, knowledge, and support for the Product Development, Sales, and Professional Services organizations and across teams within the Global Customer Care.

What you will do

  • You will act as a technical security expert to help guide the design of our secure hybrid cloud computing environments required to support our planning and digital supply chain solutions.
  • Responsibilities include design, architecture and implementation of secure cloud solutions that follow industry best practices, ensure system integrity, availability and confidentiality
  • Train and mentor Cloud Services and R&D team members on new security technologies introduced.
  • Guide Kinaxis’ Cloud Services leadership through major technological changes and assist in designing solutions that follow company and executive level strategy
  • Provide subject matter expertise on public cloud security practices
  • Build and maintain security diagrams, design, and process documents.
  • Identify and implement improvements to the cloud security policies, procedures and affiliated technologies, in order to manage and mitigate key security risks
  • Collaborate across the organization to ensure security risks are properly considered and that all compliance matters are being adhered to
  • Understand potential and emerging information security threats and vulnerabilities and communicate this information to appropriate team members throughout the Company on a timely basis
  • Design solutions that support and enable Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plan objectives.
  • Provide timely status updates to Senior Management
  • Work in close collaboration with Kinaxis’ R&D group
  • Accountable for ensuring the design of all Cloud Systems solutions meets the appropriate security and compliance requirements.
  • Must adhere to all security and confidentiality requests for this position.

What we are looking for

  • BS or BA in Information Security, Computer Science, Information Systems, or demonstrated equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in IT Security, including 5 with a SaaS/Hosting organization
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with Azure public cloud platform and its related technologies including but not limited to deployment, automation, networking and security
  • Strong knowledge and skills across operating systems (Windows, Linux, VMware)
  • Strong knowledge and deep understanding of complex network security principles / network concepts such as (gateway, http proxy, vlans, dmz, VPN, firewalls, SSL);
  • Strong technical skills relevant to Information Security such as secure coding standards, ethical hacking techniques, security operations, cloud security architecture, SIEM, operating system security, vulnerability and threat management
  • Experience with Kubernetes platforms in a hybrid cloud solution
  • Experience with network technologies (firewall, switches, router, load balancers)
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Ansible, Packer)
  • Experience with backend and API development (Python, Java, Go, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Information Security and Governance industry standards/best practices and relevant regulations (e.g., SSAE16, ISO27000)
  • CISSP, CCSP, Comptia Cloud/Security +, CISM, or GIAC certifications preferred
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • Must have proven ability to realign technical priorities rapidly to meet evolving business requirements
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
