JupiterOne
JupiterOne is a cyber asset analysis platform for cybersecurity designed to continuously collect, connect, and analyze asset data so security teams can see and secure their entire attack surface through a single platform. Our software helps companies create a contextual knowledge base using graphs and relationships as the single source of truth for an organization's cyber asset operations. We help security, IT, and cloud teams answer the questions that matter.
We’re looking for a DevRel lead who can define and grow our capacity for developer relationships across JupiterOne’s platform and our open source projects within a small, flat community team. You will work closely with our community of cloud-native security engineers to use our platform, speak at events, produce video content, and create technical demos of our platform for our user community. You will also collaborate closely with other community team members, product marketers, engineering, and customer success as an internal community advocate.
JupiterOne is building a thriving community of champions who can collectively uncover new use cases for our graph-based security platform. DevRel requires someone with a technical background who can communicate and empathize with cloud-native security engineers. This role would appeal to you if you have the technical skills to create new demos, are fluent in Github and open source, and can communicate effectively about solutions with both technical and non-technical audiences.
What You Will Do:
- Connect with security leaders and cloud security engineers to share knowledge about JupiterOne’s platform and open source projects, while actively gathering customer feedback.
- Become a subject matter expert on JupiterOne’s platform and domain-specific query language (J1QL) and continuously work within the community to surface new use cases.
- Collaborate with JupiterOne community, PMM, engineering, and other cross-functional teams to improve our product, and grow our user ecosystem.
- Lead efforts to find, nurture, and reward our power users by creating a formal champions program and local user groups for expanded reach.
- Lead the effort to define, track, and improve our DevRel metrics across Github, Slack, and Twitter using Orbit.
- Create tutorials on new and existing SecOps automation examples in video, blog, community guides, and webinars.
- Collaborate with our solutions architecture team to create additional tutorials for beginner, intermediate, and advanced customers.
- Submit many CFPs and help colleagues in engineering roles submit a steady stream of CFPs.
Who You Are:
- 5+ years of experience in developer relations, developer advocacy, evangelism, or OSS ecosystem roles.
- Someone with significant interest in security, who is ideally well-integrated into security engineering conferences and communities.
- Excellent and flexible communicator who can explain sophisticated cloud security issues to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Familiarity with SQL, Python, and Node.js
- Demonstrable experience within open source communities, as a contributor and partner.
- Fluent in developer tools and processes for cloud-native environments or SecOps automation.
- Have a significant portfolio of DevRel content in multiple formats, including videos, blogs, code samples, and public speaking experience.
- Experience working in cloud-native development environments is beneficial to understand our customers, including exposure to solutions like K8s, Terraform or Docker.
- Experience with cloud-native security within the AWS or GCP ecosystem is not strictly mandatory, but it’s a huge plus.
- Bonus points if you have some exposure to knowledge graphs, particularly graph-based security.
