Meet the team:

Argo is looking for an engineer to join our team of highly skilled Network Engineers. This role will be focused on maintaining and deploying solutions to provide advanced expertise in a complex network security environment. This will include running, maintaining, and troubleshooting various network firewalls, proxies, appliances; responding promptly and effectively to problems and either directly resolving the problems or escalating to the appropriate resource and monitoring its effective resolution.

What you’ll do: 

• Configuration/administration of PaloAlto Firewalls & Prisma Access Infrastructure
• Firewall deployment and optimization, including security policy design
• Configuration/administration of Akamai Fast DNS and WAF
• Configuration/administration of F5 LTM, ASM, APM and GTM systems
• Configuration/administration of Proofpoint POD, TAP, TRAP, DLP
• Administering of network tools – 802.1x, NetFlow, Thousand Eyes, Packet Fence, DigiCert etc
• Improve proactive monitoring and management for network, security, and telecommunications infrastructure
• Continuously improve security posture of the environment
• Deploying and managing network security solutions
• Develops specifications and designs technical systems. Selects tools and methodologies for projects
• Commits to deliverables with customers and/or management. Meets project deadlines. Anticipates implementation obstacles
• Has direct input to budget and resource planning. Mentors less-experienced staff with responsibility for their technical development
• Collaborates with the Cyber team and participates in activities, processes, and utilizes tools needed to improve the overall security posture of the organization
• Applies security concepts, reviews information, executes defined tasks, analyzes requirements, reviews logs, and creates documentation. Performs actions to address or mitigate risks and vulnerabilities. Reviews and defines controls
• Knowledge of networking monitoring tools and protocols
• Create new operational procedures/runbooks, as required
• Diagnosis and troubleshooting of systems, networks, and applications as required
• Participation in formal change management process

What you'll need to succeed:

• 10+ years experience in datacenter or cabling plant management
• Expertise with Network Access Control (NAC) technologies
• Former or current role as a Network Security Engineer
• Experience with packet capture analysis
• Experience with load balancers and related concepts
• Advanced understanding of IP networking including DNS, messaging, and routing
• Advanced working knowledge in network security technologies (Firewalls, VPN, etc.)
• Experience in automation scripting (Ansible, Terraform)
• Knowledge of networking monitoring tools and protocols
• A willingness to learn and internalize new technologies
• Fundamental knowledge of physical infrastructure design and implementation, as well as network infrastructure security practices.
• Experience with Installing, configuring, troubleshooting and mitigating network security devices and solutions
• Experience with root cause analysis and error correction
• Experience with cloud and on-prem hybrid deployment architecture
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain core documentation and understand these key deliverables
• High level of customer support
• Good communication skills -- verbal and written
• Excellent documentation process
• Experience in environments which include multiple sites and a large number of endpoints
• Understanding of TCP/IP and fundamental network communications
• Must be detail oriented, organized, ethical, responsible, & self-motivated
• Works independently with limited direction
• Advanced understanding of network security tools and concepts including IDS/IPSs, web security gateways, DLP, and TLS decryption

Nice to haves:

• Hands-on experience in a fast paced startup environment
• Network specific certifications; CCNP Security, CISSP, Etc
• Understanding of SD-WAN technologies
• Scripting (e.g. BASH, Python, Perl, Powershell, etc.)
• General knowledge of Cisco UCS, VMWare ESX, Windows, and Linux
• Ability and passion for learning new technology and tools
• Project management skills
• Familiarity with ITIL principles
