The Development, Security, and Operations (DevSecOps) Engineer will be responsible for engineering, deploying, and managing our managed services tools infrastructure. The DevSecOps Engineer should have the necessary expertise and job experience to work Security Operations Center (SOC) applications and systems. This is a full-time position reporting to the Director of Security Operations.
Responsibilities
- Build Security Orchestration Automation and Response (SOAR) integrations with existing security toolsets.
- Automate processes and implement or modify security tooling to assist in detection, prevention, and analysis of security threats.
- Consult with management on the operational requirements of software solutions.
- Oversee routine maintenance procedures and perform diagnostic tests.
- Document processes and monitor performance metrics.
- Provide capacity growth and development of security technologies.
- Provide monitoring and alerting of security infrastructure.
- Participate in the implementation of new systems, applications, and infrastructure projects.
- Liaise with vendors and coordinate system upgrades and troubleshooting actions.
- Implement SOAR data source ingestion, parsing, and monitoring.
- Lead automation, optimization, and integration efforts to increase process efficiency and improve SOC workflows.
- Develop reports, dashboards, and metrics for SOC operations and presentation to senior management.
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements
The following skills represent the minimum requirements to be considered for this position:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in DevOps engineering, information security, and team collaboration.
- Hands-on experience with programming languages such as Python and Java, and proficiency in software development.
- 1-3 years of experience in supporting one or more of the following technologies: Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), IDS/IPS, Vulnerability scanning, Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR), Security Orchestration Automation and Response (SOAR).
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP, Cyber Security, Linux, Kubernetes, and containerization.
- Ability to oversee and mentor junior software developers, as well as report to management and collaborate with other stakeholders.
- Ability to install and configure software, gather test data, and perform debugging.
- Ability to ensure smooth software deployment using modern CI/CD methods.
- Possesses a high level of self-initiative, drive, and motivation, along with organizational skills, while being a team player with a high level of accountability and ownership.
- Proficient in documenting processes and monitoring performance metrics.
- Ability to keep up with software development trends and innovation.
- Working knowledge of network security systems and protocols including Firewalls, HTTP, FTP, SSH, etc.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills as well as interpersonal skills to interact with customers, team members, and partners.
