 Job Description

The Senior Network Engineer will provide professional network engineering services including discovery, design, integration planning, deployment and troubleshooting of the client’s enterprise network.

Immediate term project needs include modifications to the current network onboarding process and requires the ability to evaluate the existing platform, Cloudpath (Ruckus) and make recommendations that will result in uniform and ubiquitous role-based network access level management and security parameters (including internet content filtering). In addition, the successful candidate will develop and implement plans for data center micro-segmentation via Cisco application centric infrastructure technologies (ACI). Longer term, the candidate will be equipped to address, from a recommendation, design and implementation perspective, similar. advanced network engineering subject matter.

The selected individual will be proficient in communicating solutions to leadership and be able to explain the pros and cons of a given solution from a technical and business aspect. The individual must be able to work under pressure and be able to prioritize demand, based on outage impact or project impact to the client.

This is a hands-on engineering position that will support all critical areas of the enterprise network, potentially including switching and routing support, BGP, OSPF, data centers, Internet edge and DMZs, SDWAN, Cisco ACI, Cloud connectivity, RADIUS/802.1x AAA, and other high level engineering technologies. Multi-platform Cisco experience is required.

 

 

Qualifications

A minimum of 8+ years of experience in the IT Network Engineering field.

A strong understanding of data communications required.

Experience with Cisco ACI and RADIUS/802.1x AAA is required.

Proficiency with Cisco routers and switching including: IOS, IOS-XR, NX-OS, strong knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF) and experience with Cisco ISE or equivalent RADIUS and network onboarding platform, SolarWinds, VPN and Cloud connectivity is preferred.

Strong communication skills, and the ability to communicate difficult concepts and the associated security challenges and provide solutions to mitigate them.

Must have Visio or equivalent network diagramming experience and the ability to discover and document as-built network diagrams.

Additional Information

Must be able to pass a background clearance investigation

Minimum four-year college degree in related field, or related experience
