Are you excited at the prospect of keeping millions of customers’ data safe? Do you want to help secure web services by implementing cryptography at scale? Security is the #1 concern of customers moving to the cloud and the AWS Cryptography team is dedicated to providing the security features our customers need. We enable customers to confidently move sensitive workloads to the cloud where they can benefit from strong security controls that help meet internal and external compliance requirements. AWS Key Management Service and AWS CloudHSM provide encryption and key management services, while AWS Certificate Manager handles the complexity of provisioning, deploying, and managing certificates.

Our team owns the Third-Party Party Cryptographic Libraries and systems that help Amazon’s massive developer community build secure services and technology that Amazon is known for. Our systems deliver the technology that powers fully-automated deployments and dynamic fleet scaling for some of the world’s largest services. We are looking for a System Development Engineer who are passionate improving how cryptography is used by all of AWS.

If you have what we’re looking for, come join a strong team in a highly-visible organization. You will have a significant impact on Amazon's massively distributed software development environment and help us to build the best continuous deployment and fleet management system in the world.

A System Development Engineer in AWS Cryptography will:

Develop infrastructure-as-code software to stand-up large distributed services

Identify and remove scaling bottlenecks in large-scale distributed systems

Work with other engineers to diagnose and resolve customer issues

Understand and implement security and operational best-practices

We believe striking the right balance between your personal and professional life is critical to life-long happiness and fulfillment. We offer flexibility in working hours and encourage you to find your own balance between your work and personal lives.

Mentorship & Career Growth
Our team is dedicated to supporting new members. We have a broad mix of experience levels and tenures, and we’re building an environment that celebrates knowledge sharing and mentorship. Our senior members enjoy one-on-one mentoring and thorough, but kind, code reviews. We care about your career growth and strive to assign projects based on what will help each team member develop into a better-rounded engineer and enable them to take on more complex tasks in the future.
