As a security engineer at KAYAK, you will have the opportunity to work with the latest technologies to implement industry-leading security principals. We believe that fostering innovative thinking is critical to ensuring both the success of our security initiatives and the integrity of our corporate and customer data. We are seeking creative and motivated people that have a passion for engineering to help lead these initiatives!

In this role, you will:

  • Implement security improvements in our corporate and production environments.
  • Investigate and monitor for security incidents
  • Work with Security Lead on preparing for PCI, SOX audits
  • Improve and execute company-wide information security awareness program
  • Regular scanning/auditing of critical components
  • Manage security incident response playbook

Please apply if you have:

  • Bachelors in relevant Security, IT, Computer Science/Engineering preferred.
  • Strong analytical thinking
  • Strong technical background with proficiency in at least one of: Penetration testing, incident response, security analytics, web application development, scripting, network design and configuration, systems administration
  • Working knowledge of Linux, OS X and Windows Server operating systems
  • Security background preferred
  • Experience with Splunk, Nessus, IDS technology
  • Proficiency in SQL, experience with ELK stack, familiarity with Hadoop/Hive
  • Familiarity with the following:
    • penetration testing tools such as Burp Suite, Metasploit
    • Cisco ASA/IOS operating systems
    • Java
    • Puppet
