Mollie is a fast growing financial services company, and incident response is an essential and integral part of our business. The role of the Incident Response Manager is positioned in the center of it all - the reliability of our service offerings. We are seeking an experienced Incident Response Team Manager to lead and oversee our team of incident response engineers and take this function to new heights. As the manager of this crucial team, you will play a pivotal role in detecting, supporting and coordinating Mollie wide incidents effectively. Your leadership will ensure that our incident response processes are efficient, responsive, and aligned with organizational objectives.

What you'll be doing
  • Lead and manage a team of incident response engineers responsible for monitoring, detecting, analyzing, and responding to all types of incidents promptly and effectively.

  • Develop and implement incident response strategies, procedures, and playbooks to ensure the team is equipped to handle a wide range of incidents efficiently.

  • Coordinate incident response activities across all departments across Mollie, ensuring clear communication and collaboration during incident resolution.

  • Act as a point of escalation for complex incidents, providing guidance and support to engineers during critical situations.

  • Conduct incident response training and workshops for the organization to enhance skills and readiness.

  • Stay updated with the latest industry regulations, security threats, vulnerabilities, and incident response techniques to continuously improve the team's capabilities.

  • Collaborate with other Engineering and Reliability teams, Legal, Risk and Compliance to ensure incident response activities align with overall security objectives and regulatory requirements.

  • Analyze incident data and metrics to identify trends, weaknesses, and areas for improvement in incident response processes.

  • Participate in incident response drills and exercises to test and improve incident response capabilities.

  • Mentor and upskill teams to enhance their capabilities and foster effective cross-team collaboration while optimizing resource utilization

What you’ll bring
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications 

  • Proven experience (3+ years) in incident response, with a strong focus in security and reliability 

  • Previous experience in a leadership or managerial role within an engineering or incident response team.

  • Deep understanding of incident response methodologies, tools, and best practices.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make quick, sound decisions during high-pressure situations.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional and remote teams.

  • Advanced customer-centric focus and a mindset dedicated to exceeding customer expectations

  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, PCI DSS, DORA, ISAE).

  • Ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence in incident response.
