About the role:The Head of Security Operations Center (SOC) will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our security operations, including threat detection, incident response, and proactive security measures. This role requires a strategic thinker with extensive experience in cybersecurity, strong leadership skills, and the ability to effectively manage a team of security professionals. Key Responsibilities:Develop and implement strategies to protect the company's assets, including data, infrastructure, and personnel, from internal and external security threats.Lead a team of security analysts and engineers to monitor, analyse, and respond to security incidents in real-time.Establish and maintain security policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, legal, and compliance, to assess and mitigate security risks across the organization.Conduct regular security assessments and penetration tests to identify vulnerabilities and weaknesses in our systems and processes.Stay current on emerging security threats, technologies, and trends to continuously improve our security posture.Provide leadership and guidance to SOC team members, including training, mentoring, and professional development opportunities.Serve as the primary point of contact for security incidents, coordinating response efforts and communicating with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.Prepare and present reports on security operations, incidents, and trends to executive leadership and relevant stakeholders.Foster a culture of security awareness and accountability throughout the organization through education, communication, and collaboration. Qualifications:Minimum of 15 years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 10 years in a leadership role within a SOC or similar environment.Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, cybersecurity, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.CISSP, CISM, or other relevant certifications are highly desirable.Deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, technologies, and methodologies, including threat intelligence, incident response, and vulnerability management.Proven track record of building and managing high-performing security teams.Strong analytical skills with the ability to quickly assess complex situations and make sound decisions under pressure.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.Experience working in regulated industries, such as healthcare or finance, is a plus.Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field of cybersecurity.
